ZnSe Nanoparticles for Thermoelectrics: Impact of Cu-Doping

نویسندگان

چکیده

The present study investigates the impact of copper doping on thermoelectric properties zinc selenide (ZnSe) nanoparticles synthesized by hydrothermal method. Nanoparticle samples with varying concentrations were prepared and their performances evaluated measuring electrical transport properties, Seebeck coefficient, extracting power factor. results demonstrate that Cu-doped ZnSe are significantly enhanced doping, mainly as an effect improved conductivity, providing a promising avenue for energy applications these nanomaterials. To gain further insights into fundamental mechanisms underlying observed improvements in performance samples, morphological, structural, vibrational characterized using combination scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy.

Bridging silicon nanoparticles and thermoelectrics: phenylacetylene functionalization.

Silicon is a promising alternative to current thermoelectric materials (Bi(2)Te(3)). Silicon nanoparticle based materials show especially low thermal conductivities due to their high number of interfaces, which increases the observed phonon scattering. The major obstacle with these materials is maintaining high electrical conductivity. Surface functionalization with phenylacetylene shows an ele...

Enhancement of p-type doping of ZnSe using a modified „N¿Te...d -doping technique

Delta doping techniques have been investigated to enhance the p-type doping of ZnSe. Tellurium was used as a codopant for improving the nitrogen doping efficiency. The net acceptor concentration (NA2ND) increased to 1.5310 18 cm using single d doping of N and Te ~N1Te!, while it was limited to 8310 cm by d doping of N alone. A promising approach was developed in which three consecutive d-doped ...

Cu-Doping Effects in CdI2Nanocrystals: The Role of Cu-Agglomerates

Cu-doping effects in CdI(2) nanocrystals are studied experimentally. We use the photostimulated second harmonic generation (PSSHG) as a tool to investigate the effects. It is found that the PSSHG increases with increasing Cu content up to 0.6% and then decreases due to the formation of the Cu-agglomerates. The PSSHG for the crystal with Cu content higher than 1% reduces to that for the undoped ...

Ultra-elastic and inelastic impact of Cu nanoparticles

a r t i c l e i n f o The degree of elasticity for the impact of a particle with a rigid wall is normally characterized with the restitution parameter, R. We examine such impact behavior of Cu nanoparticles with molecular dynamics simulations, for different particle sizes (1–15 nm in radius) and impact velocities (25–200 m s − 1). The impact can be ultra-elastic (R N 1) or inelastic (R b 1). Ul...

Enhanced n-Doping Efficiency of a Naphthalenediimide-Based Copolymer through Polar Side Chains for Organic Thermoelectrics

N-doping of conjugated polymers either requires a high dopant fraction or yields a low electrical conductivity because of their poor compatibility with molecular dopants. We explore n-doping of the polar naphthalenediimide-bithiophene copolymer p(gNDI-gT2) that carries oligoethylene glycol-based side chains and show that the polymer displays superior miscibility with the benzimidazole-dimethylb...
